Established in October of 2000, The DO GOOD STUDENT SUPPORT GROUP, Inc. is a NJ nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to giving scholarships to deserving students that are in need of financial assistance, so that they may be able to attend the school of their choice, or at the very least, be able to pay for their books and other expenses that may arise during the school year. The DO GOOD HOUSE began as a social club of seven members, who referred to the rented studio apartment as “the Doghouse,” where they watched ballgames, played cards and just enjoyed each other’s company. As membership grew, the focus of the club shifted and at one of the monthly meetings it was suggested that the club conduct a fundraiser for a local student and raised $500. The rest is history.

Today the DO GOOD STUDENT SUPPORT GROUP boats over 150 executive members that include local business owners, corporate professionals and many diversified occupational fields. Since its inception 15 years ago, the DO GOOD STUDENT SUPPORT GROUP has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to deserving students throughout the state.

The DO GOOD STUDENT SUPPORT GROUP, Inc. has been honored by Congressman Bill Pascrell for all of its humanitarian efforts and has been featured in the Bergen Record, Herald News and Wayne Today. The civic group conducts several fundraisers throughout the year, including the Annual Gold Outing and Beefsteak Dinner, A Night at the Races and Epicurean’s Cigar Nights. However, it is the Annual Gold Outing, organized by the gold outing committee, which remains our flagship event fueling our scholarship fund.

Without the support of the community and help of the many volunteers, none of these events would be possible.
